According to reports, the United Kingdom and Ireland are poised to host Euro 2028, since no other applications have been submitted before the deadline on Wednesday.
After ruling out hosting the 2030 World Cup, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland confirmed their desire to bid for the event last month.
Turkey and Russia were been mentioned as prospective challengers, but both have now pulled out.
The final decision to award Euro 2028 to the United Kingdom and Ireland will be announced on April 7, according to the Times, barring an implausible last-minute entry before the March 23 deadline.
Because there is only one bid, the announcement will be a year ahead of schedule, and the UK and Ireland will have until the end of the year to get the requisite assurances.
The Euros will be held in the United Kingdom for the first time since 1996, while certain Euro 2020 games will be held in Glasgow and London.
Mark Bullingham, the FA's chief executive, claimed in February that the infrastructure is already in place to host a very profitable tournament that UEFA is interested in.

Germany will host Euro 2024, while Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and Paraguay are vying for the 2030 World Cup, and Italy is in the running for Euro 2032.
Russia was in contention to host Euro 2028 until the invasion of Ukraine, while Turkey supposedly did not want to compete against the UK and Ireland.
Euro 2028 and Euro 2032 both have the option of being expanded to 32 teams.
